The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville (the “Town”) is soliciting Proposals from qualified Consultants (“Proponents”), to develop a new sign By-Law.
The new Sign By-Law will allow the public, consultants and landowners to easily navigate specific sign requirements within the permitted use of the Town’s Zoning By-Law. The Town’s new sign By-Law will address the need for the public to erect signs to identify facilities, businesses and services, will ensure that signs are designed, installed and maintained to ensure public safety and meet design objectives to complement the uses and physical appearance of businesses.
The By-Law will assist residents and customers to clarify where permanent and temporary signs can be placed, the types of signs that are allowed, what size signs can be, the number of signs and more. The new sign by-law will provide Town Staff with the tools to review sign applications and will also provide tools to address non-conforming signs.
Ultimately, this initiative aligns with the Town’s service themes related to a Town that grows, good governance, and organization effectiveness.
